CALIFORNIA FIRE: 62,000 People Have Fled Blaze

THE POOR STATE OF ELECTRICITY(IKEDC) IN THE AXIS OF LAGOS STATE POLYTECHNIC IKORODU - CASE STUDY OF FIRST GATE VICINITY

I don't know if i am the only one pondering about the poor state of electricity in First Gate area of the Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu Lagos State. Well, i guess it isn't possible for me to be the only one thinking this, since i ain't the only one leaving in the vicinity, my guess is people most especially students have just decided to keep quite about it or show less or no concern since their representative body (SUG) isn't doing or saying anything about it .

For those of us who are in HND (Higher National Diplomat) and had our ND (National Diplomat) here in LASPOTECH, i believe and know you would support me on this, that the state of electricity is now worst, i can't just use the tag "very worst" for the state.
Two - Three years ago, electricity bill was more cheaper, and the electricity was constant, we don't have to worry about ironing clothes, charging of phones and systems, fetching of water, nor reading at night. But now, we over worry on everything, students now have to strain their eyes before they can read at night and prepare for the exams, must have ironed down a week clothing, deprived of making use of their phones and other gadgets as they wish to and have to go three to four streets to get water. Even now that electricity bills are now higher and more expensive for those who aren't making use of the prepaid machine and for those using the prepaid machine, the machine now reads like what i don't even understand and we pay more for the prepaid than when the prepaid wasn't there.

What actually now marvels me is that "like play, like play" the electricity company is making it an habit and hobby. Yes, when they know and have realized, No one is complaining and either we like it or not we will purchase the prepaid card. When the Students Union Government isn't complaining, then little can the students do, mostly in this period of examination.

NEPA / IKEJA ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION COMPANY please we are disappointed with your services this year and we hope you can improve and make your services better. Make First Gate return to the days of Light, don't turn it into darkness.
If we have offended you, please na Jesus we take bed unna, forgive Us.

We thank God, because we were woken by the NEPA(IKEDC) light this morning.

CALIFORNIA FIRE: 62,000 People Have Fled Blaze

The evacuations have come amid a grueling heat wave, the coronavirus pandemic and air thick with smoke. The wildfires have burned through more than 350,000 acres. The wildfires that continued to rip across Northern California on Thursday have forced 62,000 people from their homes and threaten evacuations for 100,000 more. Firefighters have struggled to contain the blazes, and massive smoke clouds have harmed the air quality. A large group of fires burning in wine country west of Sacramento had grown to cover 131,000 acres, according to Cal Fire, the state’s fire authority. The agency said that, in all, nearly 350,000 acres have burned in Northern and Central California, with many fires sparked by lightning strikes in the high heat and then fanned by winds. Those conditions helped new fires sprout across the state on Wednesday and Thursday, and caused other fires to merge, complicating efforts to contain the combined blazes. Almost two dozen major fires were reported on Wednesday,...

#Coronavirus & Flu - Washing hands for 20 seconds could keep you clear.

With flu season in full swing and the   coronavirus spreading rapidly throughout China, it's more important than ever that people take precautions to stay healthy. Officials in China   have confirmed more than 6,000 cases   of the respiratory illness and 132 deaths, and there have been five confirmed cases of the disease in the United States. As for the flu, there have been at least 15 million American cases this season  as of Jan. 18 , including 8,200 deaths — 54 of which were pediatric deaths. According to the   Centers for Disease Control , one of the best ways to protect yourself from these illnesses is to wash your hands often, and with the right technique. When your hands are clean, you can prevent germs from spreading from one person to another. To successfully wash hands, follow these five steps recommended by the CDC. First, wet your hands with clean, running water — warm or cold. After turning off the tap, apply soap to your hands and rub t...

Reopenings: “New Wide Release Movies Are Unlikely To Be Available”

The National Association of Theatre Owners is continuing its work advocating for cinemas during the COVID-19 pandemic. In their latest statement, the association responds to several states’ plans to open theaters as early as next week. The White House’s plan to open the economy includes theaters under “Phase One,” meaning they would be allowed to open after the area in which they operate in satisfies  three qualifying criteria . In the days since the White House released its plan, Georgia governor Brian Kemp has stated that movie theaters in his state  could be allowed to open as early as next Monday, April 27  if they adhere to “specific social distancing and sanitation mandates.” Governors of Tennessee and South Carolina have also announced plans to allow non-essential businesses to reopen, though what this means for movie theaters specifically has not yet been clarified. As states begin to move towards reopening, NATO issued the following statement: While some states a...
