So, for today, we will be taking it from the first gate of the school, where we have the podium and the school field to the left and Skye Bank, the school clinic and the school guest house to the right as you step into the school premises through the first gate. THE PODIUM : Yeah, that is it at the top left in the pics, its where everyone get to seat and ave a cool rest, and wait for whosoever they are waiting for. Its also used as the high ground where important officials seat during the school's convocation as it is directly facing the school field. With summer jobs on the horizon, professionals recall the first jobs that launched their careers. #CareerLaunch  In the summer of 1971, I was babysitting for Mrs. Hackleberry for 50 cents an hour. I entered the Miss Fire Prevention contest sponsored by my local radio station WVOL in Nashville. Everyone, especially me, was shocked when I won.  When I went back to the radio station to claim my prize, a Longines watch and a "digital" clock radio, the local DJ saw me looking around in awe.  "Have you ever heard your voice on tape?” he asked. “Think you could read this?”  He tore some wire copy, adjusted the mic, and rolled tape as I began to speak. I hadn’t finished three sentences before he called for another guy, then another, to "come listen to this kid read.” I left the station that day with the biggest prize of all — my first job in broadcasting. I was 17 years old. 

Democratic Republic of Congo President Joseph Kabila has appointed Bruno Tshibala as the new prime minister of the power-sharing government. Mr Tshibala will be leader until presidential elections later this year. He was expelled from Congo's largest opposition party, the UDPS, last month after contesting the designation of successors to veteran leader Etienne Tshisekedi who died in February. Mr Tshibala's appointment is likely to further divide Mr Kabila's opponents. Talks to negotiate his exit from power broke down last week. Mr Kabila was supposed to step down after his second and final five-year term came to an end last year but the vote to replace him was not held. Flash back to some 20 years ago, i could see myself  rising from the bed with a lovely smile on my face, mum in the kitchen preparing breakfast, dad already dressed up  ready for the day work. Life was so much easier even though people were still complaining of how corrupt the government was, but life was still far much easier and peaceful. Having twenty naira for the day's pocket money in school was like having a big cash on you. Here we are, 20yrs after in the same country, state and street where 20naira could buy you a hand full of biscuits and sweets, same 20naira today can only get u 2 sachets of pure water or 2 little frustrating biscuits.  2015, we the people asked and voted for a change, a better  government, that which have the interest of the people at heart, but what did we get instead? Pain, hunger, suffering, students dropping out of school, unemployment, inflation, devalued currency, missing president, paddling, same sorrowful and hopeless news ...
