Day Of The African Child

Today we celebrate and honour every single African child, home and abroad, dead or alive, rich or poor, living in the woods, on the streets, in mansions, in refugee camps, in war Zones etc. With a broken heart, and a shivering mind, I send out my utmost wishes to every African Child who have to walk miles to school and back home daily, African child who have to hawk over 16hrs daily just to have a sip of water and a tiny loaf of bread to survive,  those who are casualties of meaningless Wars and violence, Victims of child trafficking, those who were made to watch their homes burn to Ashes, and their family destroyed. Remember we are the king of the Jungle, fear nothing and keep being strong, we were born strong, our roar will one day give us freedom. I have a dream that one day we won't have to walk miles to school daily, for education will be at our doors, a dream that one day we won't have to hawk to survive, for our parents will be employed legally, a dream that one no A...

Four Ways Sleeping Naked Makes You Healthier

What if I told you in just 10 seconds a day, you can sleep better, make more money, reduce stress, and lose weight? Sleeping naked can do all these things and more. All you have to do is take off your clothes. While there are countless strategies floating around out there to help you improve in these areas, none is as simple—and many are less effective—as stripping down before you go to sleep. Since only 8% of people sleep naked, most everyone can discover the benefits of sleeping in the buff. This may sound far-fetched, but hear me out before you throw those cozy flannel pajamas on. You Sleep Better Naked We've always known that quality sleep is good for your brain, but recent research from the University of Rochester demonstrates exactly how so. The study found that when you sleep your brain removes toxic proteins from its neurons that are by-products of neural activity when you're awake. The catch here is that your brain can only adequately remove these toxic...

#WHAT EDUCATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE

Ones a child is born, as early as age three, the child begins the adventure called Education, three years in the kindergarten/nursery school, immediately moves to the primary school where he/she spends six good years of his/her life with a lot of different subjects (as much as 16 different ones). then straight up the child moves to the secondary school (high school) where he/she spends another six years with so much subjects been enforced into the child's brain. Its of recent i just started asking myself , how did i pass through this stressful stages of my education life? when ever i see a 7 - 8 year old child going to school with a big filled bag that appears to be heavier than the child itself. 16 subjects for a seven year old child? waoooooo, please how do the teachers expect this young ones to know the sixteen subjects? well, adaptation i think it is. After spending the six years in secondary school, now he/she must face some examination bodies which wil...

THE POOR STATE OF ELECTRICITY(IKEDC) IN THE AXIS OF LAGOS STATE POLYTECHNIC IKORODU - CASE STUDY OF FIRST GATE VICINITY

I don't know if i am the only one pondering about the poor state of electricity in First Gate area of the Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu Lagos State. Well, i guess it isn't possible for me to be the only one thinking this, since i ain't the only one leaving in the vicinity, my guess is people most especially students have just decided to keep quite about it or show less or no concern since their representative body (SUG) isn't doing or saying anything about it . For those of us who are in HND (Higher National Diplomat) and had our ND (National Diplomat) here in LASPOTECH, i believe and know you would support me on this, that the state of electricity is now worst, i can't just use the tag "very worst" for the state.

Moving round the school premises, i have never seen a preparation such as these, very impressing, facilitating and encouraging. At first most students were like "what is happening?" This isn't the first time convocation will be holding in the school, why then so much preparation? All this questions were been asked and finally the School Parrots brought to our attention that  "its her 40th year anniversary", whose ? Almost two-thirds of children worry 'all the time'

At nine, Tom was so worried about not being able to do his class work that he kept running out of the school gates. More than once he tried to escape out of a first-floor window, convinced his teacher was criticising him. He is not alone - research among 700 children aged 10 and 11 for the mental-health charity Place2Be suggests almost two-thirds worry "all the time". Concerns about family and friends and fear of failing at school are the top causes of anxiety, says the charity. The school referred Tom and his mother for counselling sessions, run by the charity at the school. Anger control Tom felt he could not learn and his mother could not get a job as she was so worried about what would happen if he ran home from school and found her gone. Tom was taught breathing exercises to control his anger and reduce his anxiety - techniques he used for the rest of his school career. "It helped me get through," he said.
